Conan (Conan
Meriadoc of Armorica
(Brittany),
during a visit at the court Dionotus (Donaut
of Cornwall),
falls in love with the king's beautiful daugther, Ursula.
In this panel, Conan pleads with his father, king Aggripinus,
to allow him to marry Ursula
in spite of the fact that she is a Christian.

Aggripinus has his secretary draft a letter to be brought
by 10 ambassadors to Dionotus, the father of Ursula. The letter
contains an uncompromising order to grant the hand of Ursula
in marriage to Conan.

At dawn the next day, Aggripinus, Conan and a large crowd
assemble in the casltle courtyard as the ambassadors depart.

Ursula relates to her parents the vision she has had. A
divine voice has told her to accept the marriage proposal
and to bring with her 11,000 virgins to the kingdom of Aggripinus.
The wedding day be delayed fpr three years so that Ursula
can make a pilgrimage to Rome..
