Solidarity Activity
The following visual aid can be used as part of a celebration focussing on solidarity:

Prepare, or have the kids prepare
a large globe showing the earth and a cross using Bristol board. The globe should be cut into four pieces. |

The cross could simply be in two pieces - a horizontal bar and a vertical bar. Six students bring each of the pieces up to the front of the church and paste their piece in the appropriate space on a board that you have prepared ahead of time so when all six have pasted their piece you get the following design:

Once the design is up, have one student read a text similar to the following:
“God wants us to cooperate in building a world of peace and justice and solidarity. We all need to do our part to build that world.”
You can enhance the design and involve more students by pasting faces of your students on the globe.
